Spirhytm is a group of music lovers and record collectors founded in London.
We began our journey by often gathering together at local basement jams
and soon discovered the strong sense of positive energy in the air. To
share that feeling with others we formed a professional dj collective
dedicated to spreading the good sound and love across the universe.
Since then, we journeyed a long way to become a leading London based Deejay group with an astronomical collection of records.

Our tastes range from old-school disco, funk and jazz to hip-hop, brokenbeat, house, experimental nu grooves and much more.
Mastering a variety of turntable skills that we believe is a key
components needed for an entertaining night, each of us also offer a
distinctive style of djing to keep things moving. That makes us a
perfect ingredient for almost any dancefloor in the city.

Spirhytm play nights around England and Europe, sometimes appearing in
underground radio sessions gaining respect everywhere we go. What’s
more we are accomplished illustrators, graphic designers, dancers and
musicians.

Spirhytm for us represents experience, professionalism and love for
music in a pure form. Please check each dj mix on our sub-pages and

                        About Amir Groove

In
1998 Amir began DJing in his home town of Mostar, Bosnia and
Herzegovina. He was initially influenced by the underground sounds of
Underworld, Leftfield, Orbital and Kraftwerk, but he has since
developed his own style, with a preference for deep and tech house.
Before moving to London, Amir played in many bars across Bosnia, where
he built a loyal following for his unique style of music.

Since moving to London, Amir has played at many clubs and
parties across London, and has continued to build his profile across
the Balkans. He has recently headlined at Belgrade's Anderground and
Happy People Clubs, as well as headlining at Croatia's famous Buba
Beach Bar and Sarajevo's The Bar. Amir has played at many venues and
parties across London, including The Egg, Colosseum Club, Island Club,
the Beduin Bar and at the Notting Hill Carnival, as well as many
                        others.

In conjunction with Haris (Laus Records), Amir has recently
produced his first track, 'Dvore Gradi'. 'Dvore Gradi' is a unique
track that blends house music with a traditional Bosnian Sevdah song
about his great-grandfather, a famous mayor of his home town of Mostar.
Amir has recently joined the Bosnian record label, InConnection DJs.

Amir has been a guest DJ on House FM and Passion FM. He has
recently been a guest on Igor Marijuan's show on the world famous Ibiza
Sonica station (www.ibizasonica.com), as well as appearing on the
Bumerang show on Dance Radio (www.danceradio.gr).

Amir hosts his own show, 'Monday Deep Session with Amir' on one
of London's leading online radio stations, Push FM (www.pushfm.com),
where he plays alongside Abicah Soul, Claude Monnet, the Bora Bora
Show, Danny Rampling, David Penn, Pete Gooding, Robert Owens and DJ
                        Disciple and many more.

Jim first started DJ’ing back in 1986 with a suitcase deck bought by his folks and spent the next few years doing mobile discos wherever and whenever he could. He also was the warm up DJ for a popular teen club night in his Essex hometown (well, he was young himself!)

Fast forward to 2000 and, armed with a box of funky retro tunes, Jim secured a try-out at Timepiece Nightclub in Exeter where he was living at the time. One successful evening later (due in no small part to a passing go-go dancer who stepped up on stage and shimmied for 3 hours) Jim had a residency on his hands.

"The Lounge", as the night was known quickly developed into a funky, Hammond organ fuelled trip through Cool Britannia with detours into (sixties) R&B, soundtrack favourites, kitsch, garage & psych, Mod and a bit of Northern Soul.
You could always expect a fair few classics (Kinks, Stones, Beatles) as well.

Since moving up North in 2002, Jim has DJ’ed with some of the top Manchester movers and shakers including Tom Hingely and Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Mike Joyce (The Smiths) before being invited to perform at several festivals (Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Beautiful Days) in 2007.

Jim returned to Glastonbury to open up the Dance Lounge in June 2008 and also played at The Glade Festival in July.

Jim divides his gigs between retro sets (for festivals and specific bookings) and his current residencies in Doncaster and Oldham where he plays new and classic indie, Britpop, rock and the odd mash-up or two.

Jim has also previously played in bars in Manchester providing an eclectic mix that ranges from The Beatles to Blur, classic house/techno to old school 80's soul. Anything and everything thrown into the mix to provide his clientele with a distinctive soundtrack to their evening...

The pictures on my profile are from my residencies in Doncaster & Oldham, Glastonbury 2007 (backstage green room & Silent Disco tent), Glastonbury 2008 (Dance Lounge) and Glade Festival (in the Parlure venue).

Happy for potential repeat clients to come and see me at either of my residencies - just get in touch to arrange it.

Please note that I'm happy to travel any distance subject to expenses in addtion to my hourly rate. In any event, I'm very competitive!
