After getting his first set of decks aged 14, Vicente Arenillas has been hooked on electronic music ever since. Starting his record collection aged only 11, Vicente has been honing his sound and developing his natural talent for underground sounds for many years and contries. Vicente has always had a passion for techno, going back to 1990. Dj’s like Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola or Ben Sims, had inspired him to look further into the growing techno vibe that was coming from Detroit and Europe. As the Techno scene started to stagnate Vicente went back to his roots and started to play a more minimal vibe, replacing the brash hard techno he had become known for with a deeper, groove filled style of techno. Taking inspiration from artists like Ritchie Hawtin, and the sounds that were emanating from Berlin, Vicente moved naturally across and started to gain a reputation of introducing this new minimal sound to a much harder crowd. He began DJing and promoting clubs at the age of 18, regularly attracting in excess of 500 customers, though because of the success of this, I then moved this to a larger venue. The night was called “Orpheo” and the music policy was mostly Detrit Techno music with some European techno. After 18 months he decided he would like to travel around Europe to gain inspiration for future projects. While living in Sofia in Bulgaria, he started a club night called “Life-House” and this regularly attracted 300 customers, though this was because he chose a small venue. Well-known international DJ’s came over and carried on my theme of electronic music, though after 4 years he decided to go to work in China. He returned to Spain where he once again started his club night, and again it was much in the same vein as his previous ventures. The main difference this time was that, instead of having a fixed abode, he decided to take it on the road. He went to Palencia, Valladolid, Leon, Burgos, Salamanca, Soria, Segovia, Avila, Zamora, Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao. He arrived in London in 2008, where he began promoting at venues including “Exit” on Brick Lane, the “54 Club” in Shoreditch amongst others. These nights were also electronically themed as before and, although they were relatively small venues, these nights regularly attracted over 150 customers. He had played music with the bests DJ around the Europe in different venues in Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Oviedo, Santander…). Normally, he play techno or techno-minimal, electro-minimal, electro. He have started with the production on 2008 and now he is involved in differents creative projects like producer.
