Dj marc Williams (Coventry)
Firstly i started djing in coventry in 1991 with a friend of mine at the Builders working mens club on sat and wed nights.I quickly learned the art of mixing on turntables and have been doing so ever since. I started as many djs do by means of mobile discos and residencies in the early years and playing a few rave parties in the early nineties. Since then my djing has took me all over the midlands,wales and lincolnshire to name but a few.(I never went to dj abroad like a lot of my friends did as i started a family at a young age so had other commitments).Over this time i have met and became friends with a lot of other dj's and mc's across the country , a few of which i have had work with me in the past and who would do so in the future. From 1998 til 2004 , i was the resident dj on a saturday night at the newtz in Coventry as well as djing at the former Bonds and Silvers Bars, and a couple of gigs here and there throughout the city as well as private parties for people. After the newtz i dj'd at a bar/club in stamford lincolnshire for 3 years called Cromwells. Both of these venues had a poor turn out before i started ,to being the places to go (both were very succesfull) Since then i have been djing at a club in Wales,and bits and bobs for friends and word of mouth . There is so much more i have done incl. running my own nights called 'satisfaction' which went really well in Coventry , to working as an audio tech for a couple of years. I have a great wealth of music styles and can read crowds really well (something that my18 years of experience has given me .Also i have a great knowledge in running entertainment for venues as well as audio and visual installations. I do have my own pa system and full intelligent lighting rig that can be assembled along with decks ,mixers,mics etc etc if required. At present i am seeking to get back into the dj'ing scene in Coventry after putting a couple of nights on at the Diplomat pub with my long term friend and mc Chris. These nights went exceptionally well although the venue is more geared to a regular client base. The couple of nights we put on at the Diplomat generated a lot of interest from the public and some old friends incl.bar owners and door staff through Coventry who have since been in contact asking where we are playing next as it was good to have us back in the city. Well thats a short description of what i have done there are a lot of other things which im sure i can discuss with you if you are interested in what i have to offer.
my music varies through house,trance,classic dance,old school etc etc.
i am more suited to bar / club work as this is what i have concentrated on over the years. Im pretty well known in the coventry area and had a great following over the years. I still mix my music on technics although the music is supplied through my laptop programe called final scratch which gives a nice 'show' to customers at events and nights.
I do have a full time job and have always enjoyed djing as a hobby.
Also if you search the net for dj marc williams,satisfaction, newtz & cromwells there are some old reviews kicking about from the times i was playing at the venues.
