DJ Coma started his music career a long time before he first stood behind the decks. As a kid in music school, he could not have imagined that it would turn out like this. Vadim's passion for music developed over athe years, and at the age of 16 he was playing in the school orchestra. As he started playing different musical instruments, he got well acquainted with all sorts of music and sound equipment. Inspired by powerful sounds and the potential of professional mixers he started to play bass guitar in the school band. By the age of 18 electronic dance music had firmly taken hold and Vadim began organizing parties for his school friends. The success of these parties and the feedback he received further motivated Vadim to pursue a future in dance music.
During his student years in Riga Vadim developed his DJ skills, and playing his favourite music in front of a crowd was the main thing on his mind. After a few months in Riga, Vadim got the chance of a lifetime when one of the biggest night clubs in Riga offered him a chance to lift his DJ ambitions to the next level. After some practical training and guidance in DJ school, Vadim quickly became the resident DJ at the club. Vadim's main music style is house and it's most popular sub-genres, but also Vadim loves adding trance sounds to his DJ sets. His music is influenced by ATB (André Tanneberger), Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello.
At first it took Vadim some time to get all the technical skills, but time passed very quickly as it was a pleasure for him to spend time doing what he loved. With his natural DJ mind-set and the right music vibe on his mind, Vadim was quickly up to speed, playing warm-up sets and afterhours parties at the top venues across Riga. In 2005 Vadim became a resident DJ at LaRocca nightclub and from then on he became known as DJ Coma.
At weekends and at special theme parties, he has played on stage with top Latvian DJ's including DJ Vortex, DJ DMA, DJ Romkeen, DJ Edgar, DJ Dzee, DJ Rodion Gordin, DJ Dmitry Smirnoff, DJ Dzee, DJ Fan, DJ Andrew, Dj Rustem and Dj Peter aka Partypapa. Over the past few years DJ Coma has given thousands of people their weekend dance sensation on many different occasions.
Among the highlights of his young DJ career, Vadim counts the sets he played as a warm up DJ for Ferry Corsten, Alex Gaudino, Dj Smash, Axwell, Tocadisco, Warp Brothers, D.O.N.S. & Terry B, Hi-Tack, 666, Moguai, Brooklyn Bounce, Benassi Bros & Dhany, and the biggest pleasure of all was to play a warm up set for Paul Oakenfold at Latvia's biggest venue "Arena Riga."
