Carl provides a show that interacts with the audience relaying information, anecdotes and topical humour. Carl does not play records one after the other as if he is MUSICAL WALLPAPER, he becomes an important part of the event.
He also has an interest in a Digital Printing Company, and is able to produce tickets and Posters for your event.

Some regrets
Refusing to accept a radio position during the early years, this was brought about by his then pending marriage, and the pressure from his future Father in law to get a proper job. He maintained his club scene and developed more interpersonal skills. In hind sight the turning down of the radio position was a big mistake, albeit he has made many broadcasts, and as a guest presenter.
IT ALL STARTED WAY BACK
Commenced way back in 1964, progressed from the local YMCA and Youth Club to appear at most of the South London Soul venues, including the famous BROMEL Club, The Penthouse, Hatchets, The Valbon, Bon Bonne, Chislehurst Caves, The Bal Tabarin, Top Rank Ballroom, The Fox (Palmers Green), American Air bases, and hundreds of smaller clubs throughout the entire UK.
Accepted a residency at the most important UK Venue during the 1960's
Appeared at he California Ballroom between 1968-1973 appearing with almost every Soul Artist. See the california-ballroom.info site.

This event was going to be professional right from the word go. Carl Edwardes cut his teeth with the Trojan Roadshow back in the mid-sixties and then moved on to help Mrs Green sort out the California Ballroom. Now in the business for over 40 years, Carl knows how to put on a show.

The line-up for the event was packed with DJs who wanted to take part including Paddy Grady from Northern Soul Radio and Blues and Soul Magazine, Roger Twiggy Day from the old Radio Caroline days, and DJs from various other venues around the country.
The music was Motown and Soul with those from the North being well catered for. The Northern Soul dancers may be advancing in years but they can still cut their stuff on the floor.
The Band on Stage:
There were ten of them plus Roy Hemmings (The Drifters) which is why the stage was full of equipment. Whilst everyone had sat and listened intently to Ann Shirley( Diana Ross Tribute act), as the strains of 'Time' rang out, people got to their feet and danced. This is Edwin Starr's band and they are probably the best soul outfit in this country. Unfortunately Edwin had past away just before the event, albeit it was expected for him to have performed, his Son, was booked to replace him.

Over the past few years I have been doing mainly Soul shows and the increasing 60+ Birthday parties, where playing original 60's vinyl has proved a great memory jerker for all that attended such parties.
More recently appearing on the California Ballroom Roadshow events, being the Mc for the events that the Velvelettes(Motown) appeared.
Activly been involved in training younger Dj's and rebuilding a new Sound system ready for the 2010 season.

My show is not suitable for 18th or 21st Birthday parties, unless that have a 60's or Old School theme and have door security provided.
All Shows
are geared around the clients requirements, holding face to face meeting prior to the evening. This allows for the show to be personalised and a running order can be developed to include the presentation of gifts, flowers and any Family/Company Tributes to be included without the evening/days entertainment being disjointed.
